The Fundamentals of Welding training program is designed to develop entry level employees with the skills necessary to enter the manufacturing industry as a welder.

Accelerated Welding Academy
Tuesday, January 17, 2023 to Wednesday, March 8, 2023
Tuesday:
4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Wednesday:
4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
This class will be held at Minnesota State College-Southeast Red Wing.
10 hours of classroom instruction, including Math for Welders, Weld Symbols and Safety.
30 hours of hands-on welding instruction, including:
- GMAW MIG Welding
- Intro to Oxyfuel Cutting
- Intro to SMAW (stick)
- Intro to Plasma Cutting
- Plus Northstar Digital Literacy Computer Training
- OSHA 10 Certification
How to Participate
Qualifiers: Individual of color, lacking stable housing, criminal record, no High School Diploma or GED, disability, unemployed for the last 26 weeks, at of below the 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline

Outcomes
You will receive 2 certificates of completion and 1 college credit from Minnesota State College-Southeast Red Wing. This is a great opportunity to explore whether the Welding field is for you.
