After meeting a State of Minnesota employment recruiter at the 2024 Veterans Career Fair, Michael was hired as an investigator in the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General. Now he’s encouraging fellow veterans to attend the 2025 Veterans Career Fair coming up on May 21 in Brooklyn Center to learn about great career opportunities with military-friendly employers.

Michael, a recently separated and relocated U.S. Navy veteran, attended the Veterans Career Fair last May while job searching and found it to be a valuable experience. He encourages fellow unemployed and underemployed veterans to seize the opportunity and attend this year's Veterans Career Fair to unlock their potential.

“I highly recommend attending. Events like this are excellent networking opportunities and helped me consider lines of work and offices that I hadn’t before. It’s important while attending to have specific booths in mind you plan on visiting but also be approachable and meet with folks not on your list,” said Michael. “Every service member has a certain level of confidence and professionalism that is unique and sought after by employers. Events like this are a great way to showcase those hard-earned skills.”

Michael's supervisor, David Cullen, Assistant Attorney General  and Health and Teacher Licensing Division Manager, had this to say about the value Michael and other veterans bring to the workplace: "The Attorney General’s Office is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity.  We also value character and integrity in applicants seeking to join us in our shared mission of helping people afford their lives and live with dignity, safety, and respect. Through their service to our country, veterans have training and experience related to these core values and are well-positioned to take on mission-driven work for the betterment of all. In short, the Attorney General’s Office values veterans, they are an asset to our team and mission, and we encourage them to attend the Veteran’s Career Fair to learn more about and consider opportunities with the Attorney General’s Office."

Current and former U.S. Military Service Members, spouses, caregivers and members of Gold Star Families, you are invited to attend!
