Prepare for a career in K-12 education as a Paraprofessional, a credentialed education professional who works under the direction of a certified teacher to provide support to students. Paras are in high demand in local schools for special education & general education. Designed to qualify paras and meet Title I requirements, eligible students will enroll in ParaEducator Online & work with a professional instructor through the first 13 lessons. Certification testing provided upon completion of the course.

Online or Virtual Information
Class meetings on Google Meet, with online homework assigned on the platform Master Teacher.
How to Participate
  • These online classes are available for adult students working with an ABE program in Northern MN only.
  • If you are not currently working with adult basic education, click here to find a site near you. You must be registered with an adult education program prior to taking a ROCC course.
  • Confirm your eligibility with an Adult Education Instructor.
    (students need to meet the prerequisites for the course)
  • Fill out the registration form with your local Adult Education Instructor.
  • Registration must be done by the course registration deadline. 
    NOTE: Deadlines are different for each course. 
  • The course teacher will send information about the course, including the link to join class.

Outcomes

Pass the Paraprofessional certification exams to meet Title I requirements.

Program Costs

Free for eligible participants. Eligibility may include:

  • Minimum Reading or ESL assessment score
  • Minimum Math assessment score
  • Computer access and technology skill pre-requisites
