Human Services Pathway
Monday, September 28, 2026 to Tuesday, May 18, 2027

Throughout this Pathway, participants will work on their customer service skills and network with employer partners from three county governments. These experiences will prepare participants for roles such as a Human Services Representative who helps community members navigate and enroll in county assistance and benefit programs. Participants also earn 10 college credits through Normandale Community College on topics such as Interpersonal Communication and Psychology. Classes are in-person at the PPL Career Center and Normandale Community College.

Qualifications include:
- 2 years of customer service experience
- Cannot be a prior or current employee of Dakota, Hennepin, or Ramsey County
- Designed for participants with little to no college experience
- At least 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED
- Right to work in the US
- Proficient math, reading, and digital literacy skills
Outcomes
Throughout the training, participants will work on their customer service skills and earn the National Retail Federation certification. The Pathway includes great opportunities to network with the employer partners at Dakota, Hennepin, and Ramsey County governments. Participants will also develop a well-rounded understanding of resume writing, mock interviews, networking, financial empowerment, and more. Participants will also earn 10 college credits through Normandale Community College in courses such as Psychology and Interpersonal Communication.
