Unionized construction and manufacturing businesses in Minnesota are looking for more trained workers.  These jobs pay well and come with good benefits and working conditions. Our in-person and online services will help train and connect you to these jobs with specialized assistance that meets the needs of busy adult learners.  The program includes job skills training on-site at Saint Paul College, a work experience opportunity with stipend, and a full array of work readiness and job search assistance.

Work Readiness training includes: Worker Rights, Unions and Apprenticeship overviews, Employer Expectations, Employability Skills, Resume Enhancement, Networking, Job Search Skills, Applications, Interviewing, Financial Literacy.  Some training will be at MTP's St. Paul office: AFL-CIO Midwest Region, 175 Aurora Ave, St. Paul, MN 55103.

In-Person Hands on Training: Manufacturing & Construction Essentials is designed in partnership with Saint Paul College.  The training will be onsite at 235 Marshall Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55102, and parking will be available. The program offers both one-on-one assistance and group sessions. Our goal is to provide you with the training you need to succeed and help you secure a job in manufacturing or construction.

• OSHA-10 (March 18, 19, and 20 — 3:00–7:00 PM) – St. Paul College
• Hand and Power Tool Familiarization (March 30–April 2 — 3:00–6:00 PM) – St. Paul College
• Shop Calculation (March 23–25 — 3:00–6:00 PM) – St. Paul College
 

Work Readiness:
• Resume presentation & interview skills (March 26 — 3:00–7:00 PM) – St. Paul College
• Core Workplace Skills (April 7 — 1:00–4:00 PM, St. Paul Office)
• Financial Literacy (April 8 — 1:00–4:00 PM, St. Paul Office)
• Digital Literacy / Navigating Job Applications (April 9 — 1:00–4:00 PM, St. Paul Office)
