Building Operations Technician Pathway

Tuesday: 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm
Thursday: 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Participants of this Pathway will learn about the skills required for positions such as Facilities Worker, Maintenance Technician, Operations Technician, and more! This includes skills such as basic HVAC, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, trade tools, etc. through hands-on classes taught at Minneapolis College. PPL also teaches participants about transferable skills such as resume writing, job interviews, professional communication, and more.

Building Operations Technician Pathway | Project for Pride in Living

Qualifications include:

  • 6 months of hands-on paid or unpaid work experience. For example: mechanic work, warehouse, landscaping, professional cooking, home maintenance, etc.
  • Driver's license required
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Right to work in the US
  • Proficient math, reading, and digital literacy skills
Outcomes

During the training you will have the opportunity to gain 3 credentials! 

  • Special Boiler's License
  • OSHA 30
  • Mental Health & First Aid

Participants will also engage in an 80-hour paid job shadow experience.
