Accelerated Welding Class Red Wing
Tuesday, July 7, 2026 to Thursday, August 6, 2026
Tuesday: 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Thursday: 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
  • 10 hours of classroom instruction, including Math for Welders, Weld Symbols, and Safety.
  • 30 hours of hands-on welding instruction, including:
  • GMAW MIG Welding, Intro to Oxyfuel Cutting, Intro to SMAW (stick), Intro to Plasma Cutting
  • NorthStar Digital Learning Modules, OSHA 10 for General Industry, and Essential Soft Skills for Employment
  • This class will be delivered at Minnesota State College-Southeast Red Wing, MN. 
  • The welding class and testing will be held evenings Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, July 7 through Aug 4 from 12noon - 4pm AND OSHA10 & Essential Soft Skills class will be held Tuesday, Aug 5 & Wednesday, Aug 6, from 8am - 4:30pm
  • No class July 9.
How to Participate

Please call or email to see if you are eligible for grant funding.  You should have a current picture ID and a Social Security card.  An appointment will be made to enroll you into the program.  Call soon!

To be eligible for grant funding (FREE!), you must: 

You must be 18 years old and not enrolled in high school. 

You must live in one of the Southeast MN counties (Wabasha, Goodhue, Winona, Rice, Steele, Dodge, Olmsted, Fillmore, Houston, Freeborn, Mower).

And have any ONE of the following qualifiers: 

  • Disability
  • Homelessness
  • Person of Color / Hispanic
  • Criminal Record
  • Individual without a GED or High School Diploma
  • Individual that has been unemployed for 26 weeks or more out of the past 52 weeks.
  • Individual at or below the 200% of the Federal Poverty 
    Guidelines
  • Limited English or Math proficiency

Outcomes

A certificate of completion for NorthStar Digital Learning Modules.

A certificate of completion for 40 hours of Accelerated Welding.

1 college credit for completing OSHA 10 and Essential Soft Skills for Employment  (OSHA 10 is a nationally recognized credential).

This is a grant funded class.  Please call to talk about grant funding.  All of the costs of the class may be covered (FREE!).
