Help if you have lost your job
If you’ve lost your job through no fault of your own, or if you meet other eligibility requirements, we’d like to help you return to work. Dislocated Worker Services are tailored to meet your specific needs, helping you to:
- Develop your employment plan with the help of a CareerForce specialist
- Search for work and find your next employment
- Enroll in approved training and career services
- Access approved needs-based financial assistance that supports your career success
Eligibility Requirements
This is an eligibility-based service. Talk with staff at a CareerForce location near you to determine whether you are eligible for Dislocated Worker Services. Generally, to be eligible for Dislocated Worker Services you must:
- Be eligible to work in the U.S., AND
- Meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Be part of an individual or small group layoff
- Be part of a permanent closure or mass layoff
- Have been self-employed, but are now unemployed
- Be a Displaced Homemaker
- Be a separating or separated member of the U.S Armed Forces (Including National Guard and Reserves)
- Be a military spouse
- Be long-term unemployed,
- Have a non-work-related injury or illness
- Be an adult who is low-income, a recipient of public assistance or basic skills deficient
