Minnesota Training Partnership’s Union Boilermaker Training Program prepares adults to enter high-demand careers in the skilled trades. Boilermakers build and repair boilers, tanks, and industrial systems using welding, cutting, and fabrication skills. This short-term program provides hands-on training aligned with employer needs and prepares participants to apply for Registered Apprenticeship opportunities with Boilermakers Local 647. Participants also receive individualized career navigation and job placement support throughout the program and after completion.
Skill Training:
- Boilermaker Pre-Apprenticeship Training (July 6 – July 30, 2026)
- Primary Location: Anoka Technical College (in-person)
- Training includes hands-on instruction in welding, cutting, fabrication, and industry safety
Work Readiness:
• Workplace expectations and union culture
• Resume development and interview preparation
• Job search strategies and career navigation
• Financial literacy and job retention skills
• Preparation for Registered Apprenticeship
Program Includes:
Free occupational skills training - Work readiness and career planning - Hands-on welding and fabrication training - Union career pathway preparation - Job placement support - Ongoing case management and support services

Anoka Technical College - 1355 US-10, Anoka, MN 55303
Eligibility: Low-income adults, individuals facing barriers to employment, and those interested in entering union apprenticeship pathways.
Participants gain the foundational skills needed to enter the Boilermaker trade and are supported in applying for Registered Apprenticeship with Boilermakers Local 647
