 SNAP recipients are encouraged to apply

We are offering a 15-week virtual Information Technology training program designed to prepare participants for entry-level IT and networking careers, including Cybersecurity, IT Support, and Networking. This program is available to individuals across Minnesota.

Free laptops are provided for participants in the training program.

Cisco CCST IT Support:

Focus: Helpdesk, troubleshooting, and end-user support
Skills You’ll Learn:

  • Hardware & software troubleshooting
  • Operating systems (Windows, basic Linux/macOS)
  • Customer support & ticketing systems
  • Basic security and networking concepts

Common Jobs:

  • IT Support Specialist
  • Help Desk Technician
  • Desktop Support Technician
  • Technical Support Associate
 Cisco CCST Networking:

Focus: Building and maintaining computer networks
Skills You’ll Learn:

  • Network fundamentals (LAN/WAN, TCP/IP)
  • Routers, switches, and wireless networks
  • Network setup, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Network security basics

Common Jobs:

  • Network Technician
  • Junior Network Administrator
  • Network Support Specialist
  • NOC Technician
 Cisco CCST Cybersecurity:

Focus: Protecting systems, networks, and data


Skills You’ll Learn

  • Cyber threats and attack types
  • Security monitoring and incident response
  • Access control and security policies
  • Risk awareness and best security practices

Common Jobs:

  • Cybersecurity Technician
  • SOC Analyst (Entry-Level)
  • IT Security Support Specialist
  • Security Operations Assistant

How to Participate in Our Cisco CCST IT Support, Networking & Cybersecurity Program:

  • Visit our website at itcareerlab.org
  • Click on "Minnesota"
  • Join our Information Session, where we’ll cover grant scholarships and how you may qualify.
  • Information sessions are held every Wednesday at 10 AM.
  • The prompts to join the session are available on our website.

You may qualify if you are:  

  • SNAP recipients are encouraged to apply
  • Your household income is under the federal poverty guidelines
  • A member of an underrepresented community living in low-income circumstances
  • SNAP recipients are encouraged to apply for free training programs.

How to Apply or Learn More:

Outcomes

Upon Successful Completion of the Program:

  • You will test for Cisco CCST certifications (IT Support, Networking, and/or Cybersecurity)
  • You will transition into our Career Transition Program, which includes:
    • Resume development
    • Interview preparation
    • Connections to internship and employment opportunities
