Looking for a stable career with opportunities for growth? Neighbors, Inc.'s Financial Empowerment Center is offering a no-cost Forklift Operator Training Program that prepares participants for careers in warehousing, manufacturing, logistics, and construction.

Earn an industry-recognized forklift certification while receiving career coaching, resume assistance, interview preparation, and connections to employers that are hiring.

Who Should Apply?

This program is ideal for individuals who:

  • Are interested in careers in warehousing, manufacturing, logistics, or construction
  • Are motivated to gain new skills and secure employment
  • Meet eligibility requirements for grant-funded training
Prerequisite

Participants must complete the NRF RISE Up Supply Chain credential before beginning forklift training. Neighbors, Inc. will help eligible participants complete this requirement.

Cost

No cost for eligible participants. Training is funded through the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED).

Marlene will assist participants with eligibility determination, enrollment, completing the required pre-training activities, and preparing for the start of the program.

Outcomes

Participants who successfully complete the program will:

  • Earn an industry-recognized forklift operator certification.
  • Develop the skills needed for entry-level positions in warehousing, manufacturing, logistics, and construction.
  • Receive individualized career coaching, resume assistance, interview preparation, and job search support.
  • Connect with employers hiring for forklift operator and warehouse positions.
Program Costs

No cost to qualified participants.  

The participant is authorized to work in the United States, not enrolled in any K-12 school,and must be part of one or more of the following target populations:• individual of color,• individual lacking stable housing,• individual with a criminal record,• individual without a high school diploma or equivalent,• individual with disabilities,• individual who has been unemployed for 26 or more of the past 52 weeks, or• individual at or below 200 Percent of Federal Poverty Guidelines.• Due to the nature of the training must be English language proficient.
