At Impetus - Lets Get Started LLC, we believe that health and wellness are basic rights, not privileges -  and based on principles of social justice and parity.  We are committed to providing culturally competent  consultation, staff development and training services to government, business and non-profit organizations to address health inequity and the elimination of health disparities for all people.

We do this by educating, training and raising awareness about:

• the causes and effects of health disparities and health inequity;

• the social, behavioral, environmental,  biological and genetic determinants of health (defined by the World Health Organization as "the conditions in which people are born, live, work and age"); 
• culturally competent approaches and best practices for addressing systemic health disparities and inequities; 

• the importance of partnerships, coalitions and collaborations in achieving health equity for all; and
• the importance of health literacy and self-advocacy to enhance access to healthy resources.

Our Services:

• Specialized advice, technical assistance and subject matter expertise to the management and administration of non-profit organizations, agencies, non-governmental entities, governments and small businesses in planning, coordinating and implementing outreach programs and projects promoting health equity, health education and literacy and community engagement.
• Assistance to organizations, agencies, entities and businesses in creating, changing and implementing policies and systems, environmental and social climates to improve their health and wellness programs; and
• Development and implementation of staff training to deliver effective health promotion, education and outreach to hard-to-serve populations and teach people about behaviors leading to individual and communal wellness.
