Customize your job search using a Jobs for Me quick-search

Using Jobs for Me with your CareerForce account, you can quickly access job openings that you have bookmarked, use searches that you have saved, explore job openings that match your career goals, and learn about job openings in the occupations that employers are hiring for the most.

The first step is to create or log in to your CareerForce account. It’s easy to create an account. You will be asked for your name, phone number, email address, and street address, and you will be asked to create a username. After you have created your account, check your email for a validation link to create your password. Create or log in to your CareerForce account now!

Four ways to quick-search

Expand each section below to learn more about the different ways you can customize your job search.


Search by Bookmarked Jobs

When you select "Bookmarked jobs" from the Jobs for Me menu, you will be able to select from any job listings that are currently saved to your account dashboard.

What does this do?

The Bookmarked jobs quick-search will show a list of job openings that you have saved to your dashboard, so you can access them, sort them, and filter them all in one place.

How do I quick-search by Bookmarked Jobs?

Step 1: Bookmark a job.

On the Job Search page, identify a job listing that you would like to bookmark, and select the bookmark icon on the right side of the listing. This will save the job listing to your account. You may save up to 15 job listings.

Step 2: Quick-search by Bookmarked Jobs.

Open the Jobs for Me drop-down menu and select Bookmarked jobs.  A new drop-down menu will appear. From the new drop-down menu, select the job title of the listing that you want to review, and the list of open jobs will update to show the bookmarked job that you have selected.


Search by Saved Searches

When you select "Saved searches" from the Jobs for Me menu, you will be able to select from any searches that are currently saved to your account dashboard.

What does this do?

The Saved searches quick-search gives you a way to use a search that you have saved, so you can quickly access job listings that match the keyword, location range, company, and city that you are interested in.

How do I quick-search by Saved Searches?

Step 1: Save a search.

On the Job Search page, enter a keyword, location and distance, or both, and select “Search.” Select a Company and select “Filter” if you would like your results to only include jobs with a specific company. After your results have come up, select “Save search.” You will be asked to name your search, and after you select “Save,” the search will be saved to your account dashboard. You may save up to 5 total saved searches.

Step 2: Quick-search by Saved Search.

Open the Jobs for Me drop-down menu and select Saved searches. A new drop-down menu will appear. From the new drop-down menu, select the saved search that you want to use, and the list of open jobs will update to show job listings that match your saved search.


Search by Career Goals

When you select "Career goals" from the Jobs for Me menu, you will be able to select any occupations that you have saved to your account.

What does this do?

The Career goals quick-search will show job listings that match careers that you have saved to your account as your goals, so you can explore job openings at all levels that match those career goals.

If there are not any job listings matching the career goal and other filters you have selected, the results will show job listings that have the name of that career goal anywhere in the job description.

How do I quick-search by Career Goals?

Step 1: Save a Career Goal to your account.

From your account dashboard, select the My Goals & Experience tab. On the new page, scroll to the My Career Goals section. In the Find your career path box, start typing the name of an occupation or type of work you are interested in. From the list that appears, select an occupation that you would like to save, and select Add. This occupation will now appear on the My Career Goals tab of your account. You may save up to 6 career goals.

Add a career goal by navigating to the "My Goals & Experience" tab of your account. You may add or remove career goals from your account at any time.

Step 2: Quick-search by Career Goals.

Open the Jobs for Me drop-down menu and select Career goals. A new drop-down menu will appear. From the new drop-down menu, select the Career Goal that you want to use for the search, and the list of open jobs will update to show job listings that match that Career Goal. 


Search by In Demand Jobs

When you select "In demand jobs" from the Jobs for Me menu, you will be able to select from the top ten occupations in demand in your region.

What does this do?

The In demand jobs quick-search will show job openings in any of the top 10 most in-demand occupations in your region, so you can explore open positions in the occupations that employers are hiring for the most. This list is provided by DEED Labor Market Information (LMI), and it is based on the current demand for each occupation according to regularly-updated labor market data. As the report from LMI is updated over time, this list will automatically update as well.

How do I quick-search by In Demand Jobs?

Open the Jobs for Me drop-down menu and select In demand jobs. A new drop-down menu will appear. From the new drop-down menu, select the occupation that you want to use for the search, and the list of open jobs will update to show job listings that match that occupation.
