Unfilled openings in Health Care & Social Assistance in Minnesota 

Many Caring Career employers continue to struggle to hire the staff they need, a situation that was true prior to the pandemic and which was greatly exacerbated during the pandemic. The latest Job Vacancy Survey results from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development show a continued high number of vacancies in the Health Care & Social Assistance industry. While vacancies in the sector have declined from 45,000 openings in 2022 to 31,700 openings in 2024, the sector continues to have the most unfilled positions of any industry in Minnesota.
