Tuesday: 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday: 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Thursday: 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Friday: 7:00 a.m. - 3:00 a.m.

The Minnesota Departments of Transportation and Employment and Economic Development are offering job training opportunities for women and BIPOC individuals who are typically underrepresented in the highway construction industry.

The program is offered to prepare qualified candidates for employment in MnDOT-associated highway construction projects.

Qualified participants may receive training and job retention services. Program assistance may also include help with purchasing basic tools, work clothing, and specific expenses associated with finding and keeping a job. 

This training program will be located at IUOE Local 49 Training Center, 40276 Fishtail Rd, Hinckley, MN 55037.

Eligible participants must meet the following qualifications:

  • Identify as a member of an ethnic minority group and/or woman
  • Have a high school diploma or GED
  • Have a valid MN driver’s license Possess a car and insurance
  • Complete a training aptitude assessment
Outcomes

Graduates will receive a Highway Heavy Construction Training Certificate as well OSHA-30 Federal Safety Certification.  All participants will receive job search assistance and job placement opportunities.
