MnDOT-DEED Highway Heavy Construction Training and Job Placement

You may have a unique opportunity for a good-paying career in the highway construction industry. The Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) provide pre-apprentice highway construction training that prepares individuals for employment in the highway construction industry. This 240-hour, 6-week course includes a combination of curriculum-based classroom instruction, hands-on use of tools and equipment, videos and engagement with industry experts. The training dates are April 13 – May 26, 2026.

How to apply:

  •  The deadline to submit a preapplication is Monday, March 31, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.
  • Fully complete and submit the MnDOT-DEED Highway Heavy Construction Training (HHCT) Preapplication Form - PREAPPLICATION FORM WILL BE POSTED HERE SOON.
