Why employers should sign up for this training

The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) Disability Awareness Training is designed to increase workforce inclusion and help employers benefit from the unique skillsets of qualified individuals with disabilities. 

Through our Disability Awareness Training, businesses will learn best practices for recruitment, hiring and retention that will promote a more inclusive workplace for people with disabilities. By adopting these best practices, they create an inclusive work environment for ALL employees.

About the training

Disability Awareness Training is for organizations wanting to diversify their workplace and promote an inclusive work environment. Trainees will get an overview of disabilities, learn about inclusive recruitment, hiring and retention best practices, and get the tools to create a work environment supportive of all. Disability Awareness Training courses are available virtually on our YesLMS learning management system and can be completed at your own pace. 

Employers that complete the free virtual training will receive a Disability Awareness Training certification of completion and will have access to ongoing support from VRS Business Consultants to build on acquired skills.
